About the Resort -- $5 Million
Renovation
|
|
The Wigwam is a 331 room luxury resort located in Litchfield
Park just 30 minutes from Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport. Since opening
in 1929, The Wigwam has welcomed guests from around the world to a
destination resort rich with the spirit of “Authentic Arizona.” Over
the past five years the courses and the resort itself have undergone
several positive changes. During the summer of 2005 The Wigwam courses
experienced their first major facelift in over 30 years. A total of $5
million was spent on a new irrigation system, a state of the art
practice facility. Significant changes were made to the Blue and to the
18th hole of the Gold. A full service 26,000 square foot Red

added for golfers and non-golfers alike. In 2009, The Wigwam added a
new dining experience in the main lodge. Red’s Steakhouse, named after
V.O. “Red” Allen, The Wigwam’s original Head Professional, opened to
excellent reviews and is sure to be a hit among tournament participants. |
